Homework!

Kaitlyn got her first assignment. She was given white tulip with a green pattern with the instructions to work as a family to decorate the tulip. The only rule was that her name had to be on it but I could use any tools/paper/decorations I wanted. Most people know I LOVE to scrapbook so homework where I get to scrap book - I was ALL over that.

Okay - So here's what I did.

I first traced the tulip onto red paper then cut it out 1/2 inch smaller than the cut out. I then drew outlines of the tulip pedals and used an exacto to cut them out so the white would show through. I printed out the picture of her and used the photo rounding tool to make the edges softer. I lifted up the tulip flower part to make it more 3D.

The letters were from my letter pack and glued on with the dots. The ladybugs are buttons so I used a grommet set to cut out the hole then used thread and tape to secure them on the back. I then hand drew the ladybug walking lines with a black marker. The bottom flowers are fabric and I paired them with white grommets and I used my grommet set/hammer to punch holes in them then flipped it over to close the grommet. The swirl's are punches and I then used the punches and my sticker making kit to glue them onto the top of the tulip. The hearts on the bottom of the flower are also punches to let the white show through.

I wish all homework was like this. I went a bit crazy - I know - But she has a prime location for showing off her tulip!
