I did it this time :(

I feel like the worst mother ever. I scratched Kaitlyn - Bad! On Tuesday night she was playing on the floor and was crawling over my legs. While she was doing this Cody was playing with his frisbee and I kept grabbing it from him and tossing it for him to fetch. At one point, he game really close to me and Kaitlyn went for his toy. He growled(not a mean growl) and went for the frisbee (Which was where her hand was) and I freaked on Cody and with lightning speed scooped up Kaitlyn. At first I see nothing. I'm lookng on her hands to make sure Cody didn't get her and she starts a blood curdling scream. I look at her and there is blood dripping down her face. I am completely and utterly freaked out. She stops crying about one second after I hold her and then I start :) I cleaned her up and then I was in a fog of guilt for over an hour and I still feel so very bad. I didn't realize how sharp my nails are - They are not even long but I guess I was going so fast it got her bad. She seems fine and is healing nicely. I hope she's ok before her Baptism on the 25th! I went to the store today with her and didn't get the comments like I usually do.

Did I mention how bad I feel?

  2. I'm surprised you weren't reported to the police for cruelty when you were in the store.
As mentioned, things happen so fast reaction to keep her safe. Parents sometime do things that hurt their children and I'll bet somewhere in the future Kaitlyn will let you know your the worst mother in the world for not letting her do... or go to...

  3. Awww poor Kaitlyn! And poor you, LOL. A couple months ago I was letting Georgie play with his trucks on the fireplace (hearth?) and suddenly he yanked the metal screen and pulled it over on himself -- HUUUUUGE brushburn on his head -- felt like the neglectful mommy (here honey, go play with this bag of broken glass!) but HE got over it in about three seconds!
