I feel like a slacker for not writing. Sorry.

Anywho...We went down to George and Kara's this weekend and Kara took some awesome pics of Kaitlyn while we were visiting her new awesome studio. I'm sure I will have them soon but for the mean time, here is a funny one she took of Kaitlyn and her son George Danger.

Kaitlyn also had her Dr appointment today. You will be happy to know she's 17.65 lbs and 27 inches tall. Exactly proportional at 75% percentile for both. She was a trooper for the shots but I kept her home from daycare today to recover from a tough night of battling a cold and any shot reactions. Snuggles from Grandma tomorrow will do the trick too.

If you knew the amount of work it took to get this pic... LOL! This was the best we could do. Mom's hands can't go straight, my fingers are super long and apparently crooked, and Kaitlyn is chubs McGoo. In any case, I think the pic is still priceless. :)

Teeth!

I am SOOOO excited. She has sprouted her first teeth! No wonder why she's been a little cranky pants sometimes. (And even that only lasted a little bit)

I was giving her a bath tonight and she was chewing on the wash rag. As I pulled it out of her mouth - she chomped on me. It hurt more than it should have and I felt around her gums. Low and behold - Two little bottom teeth have broken through! They are sharp little things!

I barely got to see them as she wasn't thrilled but they are there!

We did the happy teeth dance and then I went through the stages:
Excitement-"She's getting so big!!!"
Shock - "She's getting so BIG!!!"
Amazement - "She's getting SO big!!!"
Sadness - "She's getting so big :'o("
Happiness - "She's getting so big :oD"

So I am back to happy now and really excited. I doubt I'll be able to get a pic of them yet but it's coming!

Snow time

Once the last snowstorm was over - I had to get out of the house - Even just for a minute. This is what we looked like as we said hi to the neighbors and got the mail.

Eye Color

Still blue but now with a hazel ring aroung the pupils. Her hair is also coming in blonde. Funny how she had dark eyes and black hair when she was born. This is the same baby - right?

Two types of laughs

The first one is the snort. It's hard to hear but she breathes through her nose very fast when she giggles then snorts. (Note: I am not bouncing her - She's jumping on me)

The second is the full on belly laugh. She loves to watch Cody play especially when he growls at his toy. (Note: She was just outside - that's why the hat was on)

6 Months!

How did this happen so fast? 1/2 a year already? I am so lucky to have her as my daughter. She is so good and is so much fun to play with.

Kaitlyn is feeling much better and has been taken care of by grandma these past few days. (No daycare on Grandma's clock when there are sick babies)

She has a new way to guarantee smiles - Clicking.

Ups and Downs

Right now the little lady bug is feeling a lot better but this was before a 102.7 fever and her acting delirious and completely out of it. (holy scary!) I held her in my arms all day and she just woke up to a super sweat. I'm hoping that was the fever breaking b/c after her bottle she is all smiles.

Sick little girl

I got a call from daycare yesterday that she had a 102.5 fever! I rushed over there to get her and bring her home. I felt like the worst mommy in the world having her there. I brought her to the Dr later and they said she must have caught a virus. I have been giving her Tylenol and her fever ranges anywhere from 99 - 101 now. She is quiet today and wants to be snuggled but still gives her bright smiles.

Kaitlyn's binkies have been disappearing. We pulled out her crib today to find the binky graveyard. There were actually more than this pic is showing. Maybe that's what bumpers are for.

I have the Best Neighbors

People poo poo Franklin but honestly - I love it - especially with the amazing neighbors I have. They are always so nice to say hello or ask how everything is. I have come home so many times to newspapers being brought up, trash cans being replaced, or sidewalks being cleared of snow. Lou, Diane, Walter, Linda and Loretta - Thank you.

A VERY special thank you to Solomon and his family for clearing my driveway and apron these last two snow storms. My back and pelvis thank you too :)

Rolling Rolling Rolling

I mentioned a few weeks ago that she was rolling. She is JUST about ready to crawl. She makes the movements and just needs to coordinate her arms and legs now.

Anyway, I took this video of her last night playing and then me grabbing her as she rolls off of rug.

My baby girl is sick

But she is still happy. She is super stuffed up and has this horrible dry cough. The last two nights she has been getting up at 3:00am and coughing like crazy. I have the humidifier on too. Last night, we couldn't get her back to sleep - even after a nose suction, wash rag nose dig, and a binky replace(not that she could breathe well with it in). I ended up having her in bed with me in my arms sitting upright while we both fell asleep. I got to scrunch down a bit but I had her in a death grip so I didn't worry about her rolling off the bed. She slept pretty good but I was a nervous wreck she wasn't breathing well.

She's getting extra TLC from Grandma today with super snuggles. If she is like this tomorrow - no day care for her!

So I have had her in a chair for awhile and have held her up in a sitting position for a few weeks now. Today, I decided to put the boppy around her to see how she would hold up knowing that if she fell back(Like she always does when I hold her) she would land on the pillow. SHE STAYED! She was playing like this unassisted for about 15 minutes. If she started to tip back, she caught herself and leaned forward. If she tilted forward, she used her arm to balance herself. I can't believe how much she changes - even on a day to day basis.

PS here she is on the same boppy at 6 days old.

-Being tickled

-7am wake up smiles

-grasping onto mommy's hair and pulling it

-Being cold

-putting her arms through onsies

-getting her face washed

-hunger

-being overly sleepy

She is STILL such a good baby and I am so greatful for it.

I love how much time I get to spend with her during the weekends. We got lots of playtime and rolling in and I love to giver her baby airplane rides. She cracks up!

I tried her first real 1st food on Friday. It was squash. She made a pretty funny face at the beginning but soon loved it and would just sit there with her mouth open ready for it to magacially get there. She is really taking to food well but WHEW - Holy diapers! PHHEEWWW!

Today the lady bug got to spend the day with Aunt Linda, Ashley and Uncle Steve while I worked and mom was recuperating.

10:03 Rolling, rolling, rolling, keep that baby rolling................first diaper change............still happy....no bottle needed yet!!

11:18 She had an entire bottle ( not heated in the microwave) and now just went down for an AM nap...how long should I expect her to sleep? I want to take her shopping when she wakes up..........

11:57 Sorry it took so long to respond....I was talking to Mom. She said she is going to sleep for 3 or 4 hours..............I hope not....we have things to do and people to see. She is still being a perfect LadyBug.

2:57 So Kaitlyn woke up about 1230 which was perfect time for a visit from my friend. She had wonderful manners and sat on my lap while we drank tea and coffee. After that, we went into the car to Ewing for another visit. Half way there I realized I forgot the plug...oooopppss....but Kaitlyn being Kaitlyn didn't need it. Then we went shopping and now we are home again. I think I will warm a bottle soon....and then some more playtime. Oh yeah, two wet diaper changes in between. I think the cheeks are looking a little red so maybe some cream. I thought Ashley was an easy baby, but I must admit, KD wins the contest.
BTW: HOLY MOTHER OF ALL HEAVY CAR SEATS - CHRISSY HOW DO YOU CARRY THAT SO EASILY?

3:18 I think that thing could separate my pelvis..and mine was never injured. Ridiculous.

3:44 Sucked an entire bottle down to air at 3:30, then had a most wonderful poopie diaper....now playtime on the floor....rolling, rolling, rolling......more rolling, rolling, rolling....followed by rolling, rolling, rolling.....its very entertaining for JuJu.

4:46 Kaitlyn closed her lady bug wings and went down to sleep....she will be all rested up for Mommy.

Sophie the Giraffe

So I spent an ungodly amount on Sophie the Giraffe chew toy. It came highly recommended from the boards I read. So I just HAD to get one for her. Lets just say it was worth the investment.

I'm SURE he would have stayed in the Darth suit. As you can see, I've come up with my own method of dealing with the poopie smell. Kaitlyn liked it! she smiled and laughed the entire diaper change.

Cutting edge solution for an age old problem: Use a VOC mask for those poopie changes. It works people!!!

First time eating rice cereal

So the Dr gave us the thumbs up to start with rice cereal. I didn't have a high chair for her so after a lot of research today, I got a very nice one that fits into the existing chairs. Sooo glad not to have more bulky furniture around the house and it will grow as she does. I also bought her whole grain organic rice gereal by Gerber.

I got her bottle ready and cereal in a bowl (Note to self: buy baby bowls) Sat her down when she was very hungry and bam -> After 2 tries - She knew EXACTLY what to do and was all over it! I couldn't be prouder!

She really is the best baby ever. I am so lucky.

4 month appointment went well!

She is actually the same weight as she was 2 months ago but is taller.

25 inches
15.6 lbs
75% percentile height/weight

The Dr said this is completely normal as she was probably at the beginning of a growth spurt last time. She is also allowed to start eating! We can start with rice cereal, then oatmeal, then fruits and veggie baby food! WOO HOO!

She got three shots and some oral medicine again and actually cried more with the oral medicine than with the shots. Nothing that a pickup and a cuddle with mommy couldn't fix.

I dropped her off at my mom's afterward and she was super sleepy but no fever. She's always the good girl.
